GLENCOE ELOPEMENT MICRO WEDDING OF STACEY + ALLAN

Stacey and Allan are brave and hardy souls, as are their family. And when I say family - not ‘family and friends’ - I mean it, if you’re friends then you’re family!

A GLENCOE ELOPEMENT IN WINTER

Stacey and Allan love to do mad stuff so when they invited their nearest and dearest to their outdoor wedding ceremony on the shore of Loch Etive aaaallllll the way down the windy Skyfall Road of Glen Etive in what was essentially winter, I’m pretty sure nobody was remotely surprised.

Committing to an outdoor wedding in Scotland at any time of year is a roll of the dice, a coin flip so to speak. Mother Nature can bless you with sunshine or she can whip up some winds and throw you some showers. Stacey and Allan got both!

GLENCOE ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Arriving before dawn I waited for everyone to arrive, feeling the wind lift the car as it swept underneath it. As the light broke I could see the wind swirling out over the Loch but I knew that Stacey and Allan were game, so I wrapped my camera up in plastic bags and myself in two jackets and stepped out into the breach.

The guys had sensibly packed a whole stack of umbrellas but as you can see… Scotland doesn't care!

The shore of the Loch is a lovely spot for a ceremony but with the wind raging no one could hear, so we all retreated under a nearby tree to conduct proceedings in relative calm. Nobody minded though - it was perfect. Perfect for them. Perfect for me. Memories for a lifetime.

awe inspiring glencoe elopement photos

After some celebrations and family photos, the three of us leaned right into the approaching storm and hit up some stunning spots in Glen Etive and Glencoe for some photos that I think you’ll agree are awe inspiring. Turns out you can use a wedding dress as a pretty good rain shelter if you are motivated enough!

The sun came out at the end - typical!
