BALMORAL HOTEL EDINBURGH WEDDING - CHRISTINA + DAVID

Christina and David - a girl from Skye and a boy from Switzerland who met in America and got married at the Balmoral in Edinburgh - what a story!

BALMORAL HOTEL EDINBURGH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The Balmoral is perhaps the quintessential Edinburgh wedding venue, located right at the end of Princes Street at the corner of North Bridge, in the heart of the city. The Hustle and hum of the streets below you and the most amazing view of the cityscape.

If you are bringing guests from quite literally all over the world, it makes sense to have your wedding day in a central location with great transport links and in the most amazing hotel. Bright rooms with loads of natural light make for a great ceremony location. Fine dining and amazing staff to take care of you too!

The bride and groom also can get access (weather permitting) to the rooftop for photos and this provides stunning panoramic views over the city, including a clear line of sight to Edinburgh Castle up on the hill. We were lucky enough to get up there twice! If the weather doesn’t play ball (ti might be the east coast but its still Scotland, c’mon) there are plenty cool spots for pictures inside.

A SWISS MEETS SCOTTISH WEDDING

The ceremony was conducted in English, Swiss German and Gaelic. If you bring a load of your Swiss German guests to your Scottish wedding, did you really bring them if you didn’t teach them to Ceilidh dance? I argue not! Also - added to things I learned is that there is a Swiss Tartan and David pulled it off with style and panache for sure!

I totally love the Balmoral (in case you hadn’t already guessed) so if you are planing your day there get in touch - I’d love to capture it in photo (and/or Film!)
