Arta Wedding: One of Glasgow’s Most Intimate Venues

Mel and Richard’s small, intimate wedding in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City was beautiful - truly, a lesson in small weddings done right. They welcomed a handful of guests for a sweet ceremony, before a few more friends and family joined the party for the dancing.  As intimate wedding venues in Glasgow go, Arta has to be very near the top of any list. I remember it as a bar/nightclub from a few years back (not like loads of years - I’m not that old!) - but I don’t remember it looking as amazing then as it does now. It’s got such a unique continental flavour. Atmospheric and romantic, and decked out with about a million candles, we could have been in a twilight Spanish Hacienda.

Glasgow is hardly lacking in character, and going for a photo walk in the streets and lanes around the Merchant city is one of my favourite things to do. Cool spaces, murals and of course coffee shops! Everyone loves a coffee shop and Mel and Richard were no different - we figured it’s okay to take a wee breather on your wedding day. So we did just that, stopping at Tribeca for some of my favourite portraits - see if you can spot my director’s cameo in one!  If you are planning a small city wedding or elopement in Glasgow, then the Merchant City could be right near the top of your list with its relaxed vibe and quirky spaces. And Arta - utterly unique, and full of rustic charm - is hard to beat.
