Lochgreen House Hotel Wedding - Rebecca + Colin

When your bride spends her days entertaining hundreds of guests at weddings all over Scotland then, when it comes to her own big day, you know you’re in for a real treat. It’s always an honour when a fellow wedding industry type trusts you enough to capture their day so I was over the moon when Rebecca and Colin booked me to photograph their amazing Lochgreen House wedding.

Rebecca is a Singing Server. She specialises in surprising guests during the wedding breakfast, bursting into song and leading them in a mass singalong. If you’ve never seen a ‘singing surprise’ at a wedding then you’re missing out. It’s great entertainment, imagine someone who has just served you your soup suddenly breaking out into “Don’t Stop Me Now”!

Rebecca is, as I’m sure you can guess, a real music buff. She put so much thought into the entertainment side of their wedding day and it turned out to be amazing.

Weddings at Lochgreen House Hotel

Lochgreen House Hotel and Spa is a five-star, luxurious hotel in Troon. Surrounded by luscious green lawns and woodland it boasts views over Ayrshire’s coastline, on a clear day you can see right across to the Isle of Arran. The hotel is picture perfect and was the ideal place for Rebecca and Colin to celebrate.

That morning I joined Rebecca at the Dundonald Links Lodges. The fizz was flowing and everyone was in high spirits. After a few photos outside - well, it’s not every day you’re in snazzy matching pyjamas - it was time for Rebecca to get into her wedding dress. She looked incredible and I think her bridesmaid’s reaction says it all, there were tears, there were shouts of joy, there were hugs!

Over at St Nicholas Church in Prestwick, Ayr Pipe Band were greeting guests. They were the first of Rebecca and Colin’s musical accompaniments to the day and were setting the scene for everyone. The four pipers and multiple drummers were drawing a crowd as passers-by stopped to listen and wait for a glimpse of the bride.

After a beautiful ceremony, Rebecca and Colin walked back out into the sunshine and were greeted by clouds of colourful confetti thrown by their cheering guests. It was time to get the celebrations started!

Wedding photography in Ayrshire

As their loved ones enjoyed lawn games and the soulful sounds of a saxophonist, Rebecca, Colin and I went for a wee stroll around Lochgreen’s woodlands for some photos.

I didn’t keep them away from the party for long, they were soon up at the hotel catching up with guests. Before we knew it, it was time to head into the wedding breakfast. After a raucous entrance from the wedding party, the room erupted into cheers when Rebecca and Colin made their appearance. That energy set the scene for the rest of the meal. Ginny and the Tonic played throughout, and before long everyone was waving their napkins in the air, Rebecca was standing on her chair dancing and singing along and a table filled with her Singing Waiter buddies was leading the guests in a mass sing-song. It was so spontaneous, it was brilliant!

Relaxed beach wedding portrait shoot

Rebecca, Colin and I nipped down to the beach at sunset for some golden hour photos. This is one of my favourite times of the day, the light was stunning and Rebecca and Colin loved their bit of downtime.

As you can imagine the evening was packed with amazing entertainment. Funknation soon got everyone up on their feet and dancing, there were confetti cannons, there were indoor fireworks, and Rebecca and Colin had gone all out to make sure everyone was up for a party. The dancefloor was packed and it was a fitting end to an incredible day.

I loved every minute of Rebecca and Colin’s Lochgreen wedding. It was so hard to narrow this post down to a handful of my favourites…enjoy!
