A Spectacular Summer Celebration at Errol Park Wedding Venue in Perthshire

Errol Park wedding venue - kathy and craig

“We couldn’t have been more happy with our choice of photographer for our big day. Stevie blended in so well with our guests, but was also great at taking control and getting us back on track when we started to run late in the morning - he even went above and beyond to make sure the rings found their way to the Best Man when it transpired he was waiting at the top of the aisle without them!

Getting our photos taken by Stevie honestly felt like going for a stroll with one of our pals. He made us feel totally comfortable in front of the camera all day. We spent the whole day smiling and laughing. We’re absolutely delighted with the photos he captured of our day and we’ve had so many compliments on them from everyone we’ve shown them too.

We would recommend Stevie in a heartbeat. For anyone looking for fun, relaxed photos of their special day, he’s your man.”

When that review from Kathy and Craig appeared in my inbox it absolutely made my day. They had such a great wedding and it was a real pleasure to be part of it.

Errol Park wedding venue is an incredible family run mansion. A real hidden gem, set within a rural estate and surrounded by stunning Perthshire countryside. It's been home to the Heriot Maitland family since the 1800s and they have spent countless hours lovingly refurbishing the property and tending to the extensive gardens and land. They have hit on the perfect blend of preserving the architecture and history of the property whilst making sure it is warm, welcoming and comfortable for guests.

Kathy and Craig are the nicest couple, so relaxed and chilled out. I joined Kathy and her sisters (Team Bridesmaid!) for morning prep, they were busy getting hair and makeup done when there was a power cut! Gillian from Pin Up Hair is a total pro, she didn’t let it phase her and simply whisked the last sister to be ready off to Dundee so she could finish her hair there. They were back in plenty of time for the ceremony, phew! Ailsa Doc was super calm too, she just carried on doing makeup touch ups in front of the huge window. Thank goodness for natural light eh!

Craig and his pals had no idea any of this drama was going on, they were too busy enjoying a beer and flying their drone out in the gardens! Although, as you’ll have seen from Kathy and Craig’s lovely review, there was a little kerfuffle ahead of the ceremony when we realised the best man had forgotten the rings! He got a lot of ribbing for that!

Speaking of the ceremony, what a ceremony it was! Tucked away in a secret corner of the lawn, surrounded by trees and with a quirky little summer house as the backdrop. Music is really important to Kathy and Craig, so it played a big part in their day. Kathy was piped over to the ceremony by Daniel Sweeney, or Piper Dan as he’s known. Sedona Park then took over and played throughout the ceremony and reception. They’re a fab fiddle and guitar duo.

The ceremony was very sweet and full of fab moments. I love that their mums did the quaich ceremony for them and there were some emotional readings from their friends. As they walked back up the aisle they were greeted by their guest of honour, miniature dachshund, Frank. He was a lovely wee thing and so excited to see them both. That little tail was wagging like crazy!

The guests made the most of the sunshine and hung around on the lawn throughout the reception. I - along with Gibson Films - stole Kathy, Craig and Frank away for a wee while. It was great to work with Alan and Chris, we bounced ideas off each other and got very creative with portraits!

The night ended with a huge party. Three Card Trick did an entire set of pop punk, everything from Blink 182 to Sum41 and Lit. The dancefloor was packed and everyone - including me - was loving it! There was a lot of air guitar!

Before I finish this post I need to give a bittersweet shout out to the amazing Emma Lawson of By Betty Bluebell. She is a fab florist and it was wonderful to see her doing her thing, the flowers looked amazing. Sad to say this was her last wedding and I wish her well in whatever she does next. She’s been a great wedding industry pal and it was always fun to work with her.

So, on to the photos! Kathy, Craig, Frank…what a day! Here are some of my favourites.
